Introduction of play
One act play “The Proposal” is like a short story. This play is a farcical comedy in satirist style. The main concentrate of the play is “how human vanity destroys human relationship” In this play the main characters Lomov and Natalya both wants to marry each other but there was a problem of ego. They both want to look superior to each other.
Important of theme in one act play:
Theme in a drama is similar in its aspects to those of the short story or novel. Theme is the main idea or purpose of the story, which the playwright is trying to convey to the audience. A one-act play is similar to ashort story in its limitations. It is a complete drama within one act.

HUMAN NATURE
"  Human nature is never revelad so clearly as when he tried to describe the nature of other persons"
When the play starts we can observe the artificiality of human nature. When Chubukov talks with Lomov he uses very cheesy words and time and again tries to impress him. Lomov is also well dressed and looking handsome as he came with an intention to marry Natalya, after knowing this fact Chubukov became happier. At this point of the play, dramatist presents the greedy and selfish nature of humankind. People hate each other till they do not have any kind of need of them. Chubukov and Natalya both are interested in the wealth of Lomov and that is why they have accepted him as their family member. On the other hand Lomov is impressed by Natalya’s beauty and an ability to do household work. He emerges as the innocent character at this part. Chubukov and Natalya have greedy and possessive nature, these both control human minds. Dramatist has presented this with humour and satire.

DOUBLE FACE PEPOLE

In this play we can see a double face pepole .  Chubukov his daughter Nataliya nd lomov are also fack smile and love. Chubukov has a good control over his speech when he talks with Lomov. He time and again shows artificial love towards Lomov by saying,

“My precious...

My beauty...

Darling...”

But when he started abusing Lomov he said,

“Your father was a drunkard, and your younger aunt, Nastasya Mihailovna, ran away with an architect, and soon....”

At the end when Natalya and Lomov got married, he said in a very typical way that,

What a weight off my shoulders ..... ouf!”

PHYSICAL WEAKNESS
"Every weakness contains within itself a strength."
The play hero Lomov has very weak heart which can be observed in the play. He time and again says that,
“Oh, my heart...! I can see stars.....”
“My heart is going to pieces.....”

He is physically very weak. He starts getting nervous when Natalya and Chubukov started fighting and shouting. He continuously repeats,

“I think I am dying..... My foot’s quite numb....”

Lomov frequently gets upset and he has a very sensitive heart. He often feels that he is about to die and he needs doctor time and again for the treatment. It represents his possessiveness.

ARGUMENT & DISPUTE

There are lots of arguments and dispute in the play. Proposal turns into quarrel and both the quarrel contain harsh arguments and insults of their family members. They continuously attack each other with abusing words about their family members.

VERBAL ATTACT

There are lots of verbal attacks by Natalya in the play. Natalya abuses Lomov by saying that he can be only fit in the kitchen works and all household works.

“Natalya: (teasing) My heart.... what sort of a hunter are you? You ought to go and lie on kitchen oven and catch black beetles, not go after foxes! My heart!”

She also abused his family members,

“Natalya: and there haven’t been many back-biters to equal your aunt.”

RICH PEPOLE
Money does not change people, it unmasks them.
In this play we can se a money minded people . chubukov , Nataliya nd lomov are also rich pepole but his temptation is also big . That's why we also think only for our self not any person. Chubukov his ready for merrage of Nataliya and Lomov . He khow lomov is not good , he has physical weakness  but his temptation I
Is also ready for merrage . And ou both are also ready for merrage cuse of temptation.

FEELING ABOUT DOG

The play describe a some feeling. In this play the Nataliya and Lomov also love his dog . And we know the dog is good or bad  but we not andresten .in the end of one qurrel . And Lomov came back, she again started quarrelling about the superiority of her dog.  So this is the feeling about dog.

CONCLUSION
Thus, this is the one act play by Anton Chekhov . In this play we can see any problems , fight  , love of money , double face pepole, and etc..
